LUCKY DAISY POTTERY CLASSES
Since Lismore flooded there are no longer pottery classes available in this area. This situation has prompted me to begin to run pottery Classes on Wednesday 9am to 12 pm from my home studio. Starting August 2022 Saturday morning classes will also commence from 9am to 12 pm. My classes cater for absolute beginners to experienced potters.
At present I have two pottery Wheels with two more on order.
I have a venco extruder and a venco slab roller.
2 small kilns with a larger kiln to eventually be installed.
Costs
$25 for 3 hours
Clay per bag (between $20 to $45)
Cost of firing bisque and stoneware $10 per Kg
My studio generally deals with cone 6 glazes.
Despite the fact that countless everyday household items, such as bowls, pots and dishes come out of the potter’s kiln, ceramics is becoming a forgotten craft. The very act of creating something unique from a block of clay, gives people an escape from everyday pressures and a wonderful sense of achievement.
Learning ceramics is a meditative and creative process that can improve coordination and dexterity. Working with clay is fun, but there are no instant results. The practice of pottery depends on drying times, firing the work twice and working over a few weeks to achieve finished pieces. working with clay can be a practice in patients.
I run classes in wheel throwing & hand-building, mold making, slip casting, sculpture for new students through to advanced potters.
Please call or email to discuss requirements to Cynthia at luckydaisypottery@gmail.com

Enjoy learning to make functional and decorative ceramics in a relaxed, friendly and creative atmosphere. Students will be introduced to hand-building fundamentals: coiling, pinching and slab building. Using these techniques students can learn how to build a range of simple forms.

Custom workshops covering any subject of interest can designed. Recently developed ‘How to’ workshops include; making a Candle Lantern and creating a Ceramic Bird. My specialty is teaching how to make an Ocarina, one of the first wind instruments made by Homo-sapiens. Individual workshops are supported by clear, illustrated instructions. |
